Students from the Erasmus+ program “Let Me Be Your Tour Guide” from Greece, Malta, Croatia, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Víkurskóli in Reykjavik, Iceland had the opportunity to learn about field recordings under the guidance of Kaśka Paluch, Ásrún Ágústsdóttir, and Markús Karl Torfason, who are teachers at Víkurskóli in Reykjavik.
They visited Skogafoss waterfall, Seljalandsfoss, Sólheimajökull glacier, and Thingvellir National Park, among other locations. Throughout their journey, the students explored and captured the essence of these places through sound, culminating in the creation of a unique sound map that reflects Iceland’s natural beauty and diverse landscapes.
This project allowed students to discover Iceland in an innovative way, emphasizing the significance of sound in experiencing and understanding the environment.
